A special photo album from the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil era, c. 1916. For sale via auction.
The erotic images (all very daring, and sometimes very explicit) used for these clean and unused picture postcards are from the Biederer Studio in the Czech Republic. This was originally a French studio for photography in the time of Art Deco and Art Nouveau, managed by the brothers Jacques (1887-1942) and Charles Biederer (1892-1942) from Moravská Ostrava. Their photographic work was very daring and controversial for the time because of the many nudes.
The studio made hundreds of such pictures. At that time it was a crime, anyone involved could be arrested by the vice squad. This album is a true collectors item for the lover of vintage risq photographs.
